Phase 1. Analysis of Business:
First of all an overall analysis is to be done on the site, to assess what is needed to best optimize it for the search engines. This may include:

* Design,
* Navigation,
* Fonts,
* Content of the page,
* Images, Frames if any
* Broken links,
* Meta tags,
* W3C html validation,

An established site that's already indexed by the search engines will need to be thoroughly analyzed for errors before optimization begin.

Here competitive keywords relating to the site and unique to the domain are found. Keyword research is done to maximize the impact of search engine optimization.

One need to identify all the related keywords for XYZ.com (keeping in view their target countries / market share in each country).This will be a comprehensive list of keywords for all the countries where XYZ.com has market share.

Phase 4. Making the site search engine friendly
